How Eliade Structural Design approaches steel connections

We are Eliade Structural Design, the connection design arm of ELIADE & ELIORA LTD. We work on structural steel connections and nothing else. That is a deliberate choice. A connection is where a frame's forces meet their most concentrated path, so it deserves undivided attention rather than a few hours squeezed between other drawing work.

Our work covers the design and checking of steel connections to British Standards and the Eurocodes. We prepare connection calculations for simple and moment-resisting joints, design for wind and gravity load paths, and produce fabrication-ready details that a steelwork contractor can price and build without a round of queries.

The people who start your project are the people who finish it. We do not pass connection packages down a chain. We keep drawings, calculations and correspondence in one place, so when a fabricator's question arrives about a plate thickness or a bolt group, we can answer it from the original reasoning rather than guess at it.

We work directly with structural engineers, architects, principal contractors and steel fabricators. Some clients come to us with a full frame model and need the connections resolved. Others arrive with a single awkward joint. Both are welcome. The point is to leave every node with a clear load path and a detail that someone can actually make.

Most of our design work is done from models and drawings exchanged remotely, which keeps turnaround steady wherever a project sits. We ask for the frame layout, member sizes and the loads a connection must carry, and we build the rest from there. No site visit is needed for the majority of connection packages, though we will say plainly when one is.
