Questions
Still curious? Reach out — we are happy to walk through the details.
Send the general arrangement drawings, member sizes, and the loads or reactions if you have them. A PDF and a sketch are fine to begin with. We will tell you the same day if anything is missing.
A single beam-to-beam connection is usually a day or two. A full frame package with a schedule is typically five to ten working days, depending on size and how quickly questions come back.
Both. We work to BS 5950 and the Eurocode 3 series, including the UK National Annex. Tell us which the project needs and we will hold to it throughout.
Our calculations are prepared for submission and we are happy to answer queries from building control or a checking engineer. We cannot promise an outcome, but we will support the submission fully.
Yes, provided the member sizes and forces are set. If the forces are not known we can help estimate them, but the frame design itself should come from the engineer of record.
A quick look at the drawings to scope the work is free. Once we agree the extent, we quote a fixed fee before any design work starts, so there are no surprises.
Process
Email the general arrangement, member sizes and any reactions you have. A marked-up PDF is enough to start.
We list the connections we can see, note anything unclear, and send a fixed fee for the work before we begin.
We size plates, bolts and welds to the right standard, and a second pair of eyes checks the calculations before they leave.
We issue the design in a buildable format with a connection schedule, and answer any queries that follow.

Services
Fin plates, end plates and cleats sized to the reactions and the member geometry, with the bolt group and weld checked.
Secondary beams onto primary beams, including notched ends and the local checks that come with them.
Column base details for pinned and fixed bases, with anchor bolt layouts and grout allowance set out clearly.
Gusset plates and bracing connections for stability systems, sized to the tension and compression in each member.
Full-strength and partial-strength moment joints, including the stiffener and column web checks that go with them.
A clear schedule that lists every connection by mark, with the standard detail and the forces it was designed for.
Put your address in and send it. Nothing else is asked for, and the address is used to answer you and for nothing besides.
